Talking on the floor on a point of order, the ANP MPA requested the chair to suspend Rule No.124 of the procedure of the house to allow him for tabling the resolution. In the meantime Mian Nadir Shah of the MMA also joined Bilour and said that he also wanted to table his resolution in this connection.
Reading the contents of the resolution, Bilour diverted the attention of the house towards recent increase in the petroleum products. He said that despite of the reduction petroleum prices in the international market, federal government had increased the price of the commodity in Pakistan.
Mian Nadir Shah said, the decision of the federal government to increase the prices of petroleum, diesel and kerosene oil had increased the problems of the masses. He demanded immediate withdrawal of the decision.
Speaker Bakht Jehan Khan put the resolutions to vote and the house unanimously replied in yes to registered their anger over the decision of the federal government.
Earlier, speaking on a point of order Abdul Majid Khan of the MMA diverted the attention of the house towards the deletion of Union Council Jehangira from District Swabi to include it with district Nowshera.
Dr Mohammad Saleem of the Swabi Qaumi Mahaz also supported Abdul Majid Khan's stand and called for the immediate withdrawal of the decision. Otherwise, he warned that the people of the district would come out in the streets to force the government to take it's decision back.
Khalil Abbas Khattak, ANP MPA from PF-15 district Nowshera, complained that although, he was an elected member of the provincial assembly from the area but he was never taken into confidence over the matter to include the village in his constituency.
He termed the decision as conspiracy hatched on behalf of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), a component political party of the ruling alliance, to increase their vote bank.
He particularly asked Senior Minister Siraj-ul-Haq, provincial Amir of the JI, to give justification of the decision.
Coming to the rescue of JI, Provincial Minister for Industries, Malik Zafar Azam said that the government had not made any decision for the delimitation of the constituency. However, he said that if the MPA concerned has any kind of such complaint, he should bring it in the notice of the provincial government.
Explaining the matter, the Senior Minister Siraj-ul-Haq said that his party had never given any suggestion in this regard. He assured the house that the views of the members would be respected in all-important matters.
